Along the Goldsteig as connection between the natural park Upper Bavarian Forest and the national park Bavarian Forest up to the centre of the national park near the Lusen mountain
The European primeval forest route follows the trail Goldsteig (path of gold), walking across the Oberpfälzer Forest and the Bavarian Forest. The Goldsteig starts in the city of Marktredwitz, from there you hike across the Fichtelmountains and afterwards along the mountain crest of the Bavarian Forest. Inside the area of the national park Bavarian Forest hikers affect some primeval forests of different age. A part of them was grounded in the 18th century and given back to nature. Via the summits Big Arber, Rachel and Lusen you arrive the centre of the national park Bavarian Forest.
